FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
• HOW DO I FIND YOUR MOTHERHOOD WORK AND INFO?
To find out more you can either click the motherhood link on the home page or scroll to the bottom of this page to enter my motherhood site.
• WHAT IS YOUR PRICING?
Elopements start at $1500 and local weddings start at $3200. Please fill out my contact form with your availability and I'll give you a call to discuss details. Rates vary depending upon location, day of the week, time of year, etc. If your date\ day of the week are flexible definitely let me know.
• WHAT IF WE DON'T HAVE A WEDDING DATE SELECTED YET?
I'll need an accurate date to put together a full quote because rates are based upon many factors (day of the week, season, etc).
However, please see additional FAQ's for base pricing and I'd be happy to discuss my style, your ideas and inso for your day, etc. It's always a great idea to contact me sooner rather than later to let me know which month you are thinking so I can let you know when I have openings available.
• DO YOU OFFER MINI OR HALF DAYS FOR WEDDINGS?
Not typically. I'm always open to creating custom collection options but do not typically offer reduced days for a few reasons:
1. A big part of my process includes getting to know my couples and spending time hanging out and enjoying the moment. I don't like to setup a rushed feeling which would be inevitable with a 2 hour window of time for example.
2. I wouldn't want to limit my ability to book a full wedding day, to tell a couples full story from getting ready (my fave) through the reception.
3. If you are looking for something simple and quick please ask about my elopement option.
• HOW FAR IN ADVANCE CAN I BOOK AN ELOPEMENT?
I don't typically book weekend (Friday/Saturday) local elopements more than two weeks out due to a busy wedding and portrait schedule. However, I often photograph weekday elopements in the evening or slow season elopements. Typically December-February tends to be a slower time of the year which allows for more flexibility. The best way to find out what's available is to shoot me a message through my contact page.
• HOW DO I BOOK?
You can scroll to the end of this page and send me some basic info about your day. I will contact you via email with detailed pricing information and wedding collection options. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have too. Then, to reserve your date I'll just need a deposit and signed online contract. It's very simple.
• DO YOU WORK WITH A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
Yes and No. I photograph all of my weddings as the primary shooter. Sometimes people are surprised to learn that I don't typically have a "backup" or second shooter. I've found I do my best work uninterrupted, and dislike the feeling of paparazzi swarming a bride. I like to hang back and let the moments unfold naturally, remaining as unobtrusive as possible.
• WHAT IF I WANT A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
No problem! I'd be happy to discuss the details of your day and provide an awesome second photog if its needed or it will make you more comfortable.
• HOW DO YOU SHOOT BY YOURSELF?
Honestly, I like being involved in the entire process-especially the photojournalistic shots! If you are concerned about missing images, the amount of images, or quality of images I will be more than happy to send you a selection of full length weddings to review.
I also bring an assistant to help with things like setting up gear, logistics, and anything I might need an extra hand with.
• DO YOU TAKE ANY FORMAL FAMILY PORTRAITS?
Yes! Just because my style is documentary doesn't mean that we don't stage anything. We will definitely coordinate formal posed family portraits to include all of the specific groupings you are looking for.
These are typically photographed immediately after the ceremony.
• WHAT IF IM AWKWARD IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA?
I hear that all the time! Luckily, my style is very documentary meaning we won't focus on posing. Instead you will naturally enjoy your day and each other while I worry about catching great moments.
• HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL I RECEIVE?
All collections are complete coverage, meaning you will receive all of your best images as a curated collection. Typically, there will be from 600-1200 images depending upon the length of your wedding day.
• WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I shoot with top of the line Canon and Profoto equipment. Although I love to shoot natural light, I do use lighting during the reception if needed for dances, toasts, and formal portrait groups.
• WHY DO YOU SHOOT WEDDINGS? ISNT IT CRAZY?
There are so many things about weddings that get me! I love the rush and excitement of the unknown. Going into each wedding you can only plan so much, and I thrive in an ever changing, challenging environment. I cry at every ceremony and am always so drawn to witnessing true love. Its so magical being apart of such a special time in a new family's life. I could go on and on. I also love cake :)
• DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?
Yes, I love to visit and photograph new places! Give me a palm tree, mountains, big city, open fields, red dirt-you name it. I'm there. I often frequent the east coast and southern states like South Carolina, Kentucky, Florida.
