Jaclyn and Alex’s Cincinnati Rhinegeist Wedding was like the who’s who of OTR wedding events. As a former event planner herself, Jaclyn’s taste is impeccable which you can see in every detail from their day. There’s nothing that gets me excited more than fashion, and boy did this wedding have it! The majority of the guests flew in from NYC, which gave the wedding a really fun city vibe.

I’m a big fan of OTR and always love the chance to photograph a Rhinegeist wedding (I actually painted one of the murals there when they first were opening). There’s such an unexpected element to city weddings, because you can’t plan for the people moving all around you- which I think is amazing. From getting ready at 21C (which is where we also got ready for our wedding) to walking the city and all night dancing at Rhinegeist this event was stunning. Thank you so much for choosing me to document your day, Jaclyn and Alex! Before the big day Jaclyn told me that she picked out a short dress…and I was done. Wedding dreams complete.

I should also make a point to say that we worked lots of down time into their day. The couple was able to attend cocktail hour, spend time with friends, enjoy dinner, and still sneak out for portraits at sunset. It just takes a little prep work, but its so worth it. I always recommend creating a relaxing day built with extra time. You have to actually feel something and enjoy the moment to create beautiful images. I don’t force things or overly pose my couples. I try to keep it natural and real. When couples look at my images I want them to remember moments, not me coaching them through poses. I haven’t blogged in a while (you know the winter blues), so I’m dusting off my writing hat and super energized to be back at it! I hope you enjoy, learn, and can help me to pass along the wedding love. If you know someone getting engaged I’d love a shoutout! Check out details at the bottom for the vendor lineup.
