Allison and Michael’s Cincinnati backyard wedding was intimate, fun, and focused on friends and family. With a very small guest list, their ceremony was held at a family home in the backyard. We chose an unexpected spot, in front of a concrete wall. It worked out perfectly, as a minimal plain backdrop for their ceremony. It rained the night before, so Allison held her dress as she walked down the aisle barefoot. The family dogs ran about as they said their vows.

My favorite part about their photos was the storytelling. There were so many images of friends laughing, and special corners of the house. When you choose to have your wedding at home there are lots of benefits. It’s really easy to step inside to take a break, and you feel comfortable choosing how your day is laid out. We decide not to leave their home for their portraits and we laughed, because we chose  spot behind the house next to the air conditioner. I know, not very romantic but they didn’t want to leave their guests and the photos still turned out to be stunning. Can you tell which shots they were? It might be safe to say that backyard weddings might just bey favorite kind of event!
