Planning OTR engagements? Are you sick of boring engagement photos? Me too. Why not think of something fun you enjoy doing together and go do it instead of staging a session. Andie and Bill don’t take life too seriously and are always laughing. For their session we grabbed ice cream cones at Graeters jokingly, and hopped around OTR (over-the-rhine) snacking. They poked fun at the whole process, posing with their cones covered in sprinkles, cheers-ing as we went. Just because you want documentary (candid) photos, doesn’t mean you have to be ultra serious. It’s important to me that couples look back on their photos later in life and remember the season they were in. For example, I’m updating this post and now Andie + Bill are happy parents expecting their second child. I’m sure looking back on these carefree photos reminds them of a time that was so different than where they are today. Curious what they decided to do for their wedding? You should be, it was wild. If you aren’t quite sure if engagements are right for you I’d love to chat about it. Make sure to also ask me how you can get yours for free (my couples receive them as a gift from me). It’s a great way for us to get to know each other before your wedding and it also can be helpful to have images for your save the date, wedding website, or just to capture this special time. Looking back I only have a few images we took on our phones when we got engaged and they weren’t very frame worthy. I didn’t spend the extra money to hire my wedding photographer to take them and I regret it now. You don’t realize how quickly your life can, and will change and its so nice (in my opinion) to have fun snaps to take you back to those moments.
