A models story – Aesthetically I have a few constants in my life – Black and White Fashion Editorial photos are one of them! There’s something about the way black and white makes me feel. It’s instantly cooler, sexier, and feels as though you’ve stopped time in some special way. You take away all of the color, and distraction and just see right into the soul of the sitter. It also takes me back to my darkroom days, spending hours and hours working on one image at a time by hand. It’s so easy to take all of that for granted now that photos are instant and you can blast out hundreds in one sitting. I really like to remember the old days, and working on each image as if it were precious. To me I still feel that way with every click. Each moment is intentional. I work with my sitter to create and capture a specific feeling. These photos were taken in my old closet and we literally threw everything in the corner of the room (yes, we are both crazy, messy and move quickly). I stood in our bathroom looking through the doorway into the closet and wanted to capture that feeling of admiring someone from afar and getting an intimate glimpse into a moment with them.
I absolutely LOVE photographing Amy because she is so open and free in front of the camera. From the tiniest movement of her hand to flipping her hair she knows how to work it. We actually both were signed by the same agency here in Cincinnati (back in the day)- Wings Models. I highly recommend them if you plan to travel for modeling. They had me signed with Ford in NYC so quickly and it was a great experience getting to see inside the fashion industry at such a young age. You never know a models story.
